We currently have an opportunity for a Software Systems Developer to join our Kineo team in the US.

This full time and permanent position can be based across the US but you will ideally be within commuting distance of our Chicago office.

About the role

As a Software Systems Engineer your daily duties will include designing infrastructure, server optimisation, data security and integrity, automation and change control to name a few elements. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining Kineo's software installations, ensuring they are correctly configured, secured, optimised and patched whilst supporting colleagues and Kineo teams by offering guidance and expertise where possible. 

You will keep yourself up to date with the software products and technologies that Kineo use to deliver their learning services and support and promote best working practices. You will need to ensure that Kineo meets its agreed service level agreements and where necessary provide written and verbal support to clients in a non technical format.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have at least 5 years experience working at scale with Linux based server set up, maintenance and monitoring. You will need to have experience in command - line scripting, mark up, serialisation languages (bash, XLM, YAML). You will also need experience of storage oriented concepts and protocols (DAS, SAN's).

Ideally you will have a Linux - industry qualification with experience of working with distributed databases although these are not essential. Microsoft based server maintenance and monitoring would be beneficial and previous experience of working with leanring and content management systems would be advantageous.
