About the role

This exciting opportunity is within our Learning Platforms team, which specialises in software development and implementing Learning Management Systems (LMS), as well as other learning platforms.

As Production Manager, you’ll oversea the efficient and profitable delivery of our client projects, to meet commercial targets whilst maintaining high standards of customer service.

In addition to some hands-on project management, you’ll lead and line manage our Platforms Projects team, working closely with our Sales, Hosting and Support teams to ensure there are clear and effective processes in place to deliver great customer service throughout the production life cycle.

Some of your key responsibilities will include monitoring project performance and delivery, using trends over time to drive continuous improvement. You'll regularly review individual project performance and provide support and advice to the PM’s as needed. Identifying challenging projects, you will work with the PMs and other team members to keep these on track.

The role also involves line management, coaching and supporting the project management team to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to perform effectively. You will be resource and capacity planning to manage lead times for starting new projects, ensuring that each project team has the right mix of skills for the job. Finally, you'll capture lessons learned from projects and use these to improve customer service and project processes.

About you

You'll need to have worked in a client facing, commercial environment. You must be able to demonstrate detailed experience of project management in a software development setting, leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing budgets. Experience of line management, coaching and capability building is therefore really important, as is experience of resource and capacity planning.
