Product Manager

We are seeking multiple Product Managers to support growth and innovation within our portfolio of vocational qualifications here at City & Guilds.

Our Product Managers are responsible for managing our products (our qualifications and other assessment, certification and training products) within an industry sector or a range of sectors that align to the purpose and the strategy of the organisation.

Applicants will need to have an excellent understanding of product management principles and the ability to utilise a range of product management tools to deliver the product strategy. 

You will also need good understanding and experience of working in commercial and funded product management, this could be government for example and a good understanding of the education sector and assessments. 

These roles are full time, working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. We offer flexible working patterns and flexible working arrangements. You can be based anywhere in the UK but ideally you will be based close to one of our main office hubs: London, Wakefield, Burntwood or Warrington and you must be willing to attend meetings as and when required.

About the role 

Our Product Managers are key members of the team, playing a pivotal part in shaping the future of vocational education, implementing product strategy and ensuring the success of our offerings in the market. As a Product Manager you will have responsibility for managing products within a sector or a range of sectors that align to our purpose and strategy. 

You will work closely with Industry Managers in implementing the sector product strategy to ensure that the industry feedback is woven into the products that we deliver.  You will also work closely with market insights teams to identify trends, competitor activities and emerging opportunities with your sector. 

Naturally you will take ownership and responsibility for commercial targets  for your sector and work collaboratively with the team to achieve these. As part of this you will analyse products within your sector to identify where they are meeting revenue expectations and where margins and profitability could be improved.

About you

We are looking for dynamic and experienced Product Managers that are driven to deliver solutions to our customers that are based on strong propositions which combine our products and services to ultimately deliver learning impact and benefit to our employers and industry. You will have an excellent understanding of Product Management principles, managing products through their lifecycle to ensure a quality journey for our customers and learners. 

Applicants will need to have a good understanding of the education sector and assessments with the ability to utilise customer and market insights to drive action and product improvements. You will need to be an excellent communicator, with presentation and influencing skills to match.
