Business Development Manager - East and South East England

We have an exciting, field based, 1-year fixed maternity cover role as a Business Development Manager, with incredible benefits.

As Business Development Manager in the City & Guilds Group you will identify and develop new business opportunities, and then manage those accounts. You will work across the City & Guilds, ILM, and Digital Me brands. In key sectors, you’ll achieve stretching sales targets that both defend and increase our market share. You’ll develop strong relationships with external stakeholders to maximise the profile and footprint of our brand and business.

This is a home based role working across a region that covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Huntingdon.

About the role

In this role you will account manage existing customers as well as growing new business. Working to local business development strategies, you’ll deliver core and innovative learning sector products and services to our customers, and ensure they receive a first class service!

You’ll achieve performance targets and pipeline through careful planning and customer facing meetings, reporting and analysing trends and insights to drive business decisions and continuous improvement. Finally, of course, you’ll build strong relationships with colleagues across the business to bring the right expertise to the customer. 

About you

We need someone with outstanding business development and account management skills, ideally within the education, learning, or development sector. With proven experience of exceeding sales targets whilst managing and controlling costs, you be able to show us your skills in building customer relationships at a senior level. You must have excellent written proposal and presenting skills, plenty of financial acumen and income forecasting skills, and the ability to meet challenging deadlines!
