We are looking for an experienced Website Manager to lead our web strategy and ensure our digital platforms are both effective and engaging

You will be working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office.  We're flexible about where you might be based to undertake this role, but you'll need to be able to travel into our London or Wakefield office when required.

This appointment will be made on merit.

About The Role

You will join an established Marketing Operations & Performance team within the Marketing & Customer Insights Directorate here at City & Guilds, responsible for managing the City & Guilds web presence to drive commercial performance, customer engagement and satisfaction across our key audiences, via a highly effective suite of website(s) that successfully underpins all external communications and embodies the City & Guilds presence online.

As Web Manager, you will have exceptional digital and web skills to enable you to bring a successful web strategy to fruition. You will lead on setting the web strategy, leading the website team, whilst supporting the Head of Marketing Operations & Performance across other key global initiatives.

Our successful candidate will maintain site content in our chosen CMS, that also interfaces with other internal systems and closely manage internal and external service providers to ensure the ongoing reliability and stability of our websites. You will be required to ensure our websites embody the City & Guilds brand through its design, content and overall user experience.

Closely tracking the performance of the site through analytics software, you will report to the business and identify evidence-based opportunities for improvements and development.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, technology and suppliers to build effective relationships to deliver on our strategy and objectives, you will lead a team of digital SME’s and encourage a culture of accountability.

You will stay ahead of the latest trends and leverage emerging web technologies such as AI to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience to our global customer base.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate having delivered on the design, build and deployment of a website in a previous role. You should have extensive experience of Azure DevOps to manage web development and deployments.

Our successful candidate will have experience of enterprise level CMS technologies such as WordPress, Sitecore, Optimizely or Liferay. You will be experienced in managing a global multi-site architecture.

As Web Manager you should have a good understanding of HTML & CSS along with proven experience of web analytics tools such as GA4 or similar.

We would expect you to understand SEO to improve the onsite experience and conversations of key goals.

You should have a natural keen eye for detail, particularly in web design and UX using tools such as Figma.

Whilst not mandatory, it would be beneficial if you have experience in e-commerce.
