Technical Advisor (Maths, English, Employability & ESOL)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced specialist in the post-16 and adult education sector who can dynamically support our internal and external stakeholders with our range of qualifications and services for maths, English, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and employability.

Our customer base is broad, covering further education colleges, private training providers, apprenticeship and adult and community learning provision. Therefore, it is essential that you have a strong understanding of post-16 numeracy, literacy, language and/or employability, gained through the delivery, quality assurance or management of training and assessment in at least one of these settings.

The aim of this role is to help City & Guilds deliver on its commitment to invest and grow in this sector. This is a home-based role, so we are flexible on location, however, expect to be away from home one day a week or more, as we have customers throughout the UK. A company car or allowance is provided, and all travel expenses recompensed.

This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role

Your primary focus will be working on the implementation of our maths, English, ESOL and employability offers across England, Northern Ireland and Wales. You will work alongside our Industry Manager to support them in engaging with customers to ensure our offer continues to align with customer needs.

In addition to this, you will be part of a larger team working towards key milestones for delivery of our products and regularly reporting on activities, risks, and outcomes. You will be required to work across our full sector footprint to support various projects. If you have direct experience of working with ESOL provision this would be advantageous.

A key part to this role will be to work in collaboration with our internal and external stakeholders such as our sales team to deliver a winning customer proposition by demonstrating expert knowledge of the products and services we offer.

About you

You should have gained credible experience working within the arena of maths, English, ESOL and/or employability. As our main products and services consist of qualifications and assessment solutions, you must have a strong working knowledge in this field.

You should possess a passion for representing the training needs of this sector and the drive and determination to work across the City & Guilds business at all levels, as well as with key external stakeholders.

As a confident individual you will have the skills and ability to bring key stakeholders together, presenting to groups and individuals and engaging with them to work on the portfolio, helping City & Guilds be a leading awarding organisation in this sector.
