We are looking for a Software Tester to join our fast-paced Learning Technologies team in Brighton. It's a great opportunity to be involved in testing Kineo’s web based products, which include Managed Learning Systems and customised instances of Totara.
You will join an existing team of software testers working together to deliver exciting eLearning solutions to businesses, and have the confidence to demonstrate why you believe it works, or why it doesn’t! There is a chance to contribute to continual improvement in the testing process and best practices, you may not always have the complete answer but your enthusiasm will allow us to further your career and find ways to fill the gaps.
What Do We Do?
Kineo literally means to set things in motion or stir things up – and that’s exactly what we aim to do when it comes to workplace learning. We work with the world’s leading businesses to improve their performance by making innovative, creative learning solutions that really get results.
What will you be doing?

This will require you to work close with developers and solution architects working together on designs, creating and managing detailed Jira tickets. You will work in an Agile-like environment, working to deliver regular sprints alongside the team. You will be listened to and asked for advice from a testing, testability and quality point of view. You will be able to analyse bug tickets, understanding their meaning and put in place solutions for testing and recording of the results.
Regular test reports created by you shall be presented to project stakeholders on a regular (daily/weekly) basis, sometimes using predefined dashboard templates. You will be expected to create simple test plans where needed, allowing you to illustrate your ideas and approach to testing parts of a project, passing through to repeatable test cases which can be executed not only today, but tomorrow and throughout the project timespan. As a member of the testing team, you will implement the Kineo quality concepts through your work and throughout all stages of the project lifecycle, including function, usability, acceptance and regression testing.
You will be working with modern technologies, working alongside team members to learn and discover new trends in software development and testing, and the best ways to use them. There is opportunity to test front end (responsive webpage design) and backend (API, Docker container environments). To create repeatable automated tests using Behat/Mink/Selenium WebDriver, using tools such as SOAPUI and modelling test data in Excel.
