Information Governance Manager

A unique opening has arisen to work for the City and Guilds Group as an Information Governance Manager which will report to the Data Strategy Manager. The role will undoubtedly play a key part and will service the project and business teams to implement and action the necessary Information Security & Data Privacy protocols, documentation and processes that are consistent with the overall City and Guilds policy and of which are compliant.  

Once we return to the office working, ideally you’ll need to be within commuting distance of one of our main “hubs” but we’re flexible about the location of this role. These include London (EC1A), Glasgow, Warrington, Burntwood (near Lichfield), Wakefield and Bristol. Whichever “hub” you work from, you'll also need to be able to occasionally travel into London to attend meetings.

About the role

This is a key hire for the City and Guilds Group which will encompass a number of areas to include; compliance and data risk management, data management processes, data quality and records management and commercial and training support. 

Compliance and risk management form a large part of this role and accordingly, you will ensure that the Information Security & Data Privacy documentation is accurately completed on behalf of projects/BAU teams. It is imperative that you audit internal and external data compliance ensuring it aligns with company data policies and processes and meets regulatory requirements and obligations under UK GDPR and other data protection laws.

You will adequately support Information Asset Owners, assure and test SAR compliance and continue to review, implement, embed systems and methodologies aimed to identify and reduce risk. Additionally, you will define and manage processes that will monitor internal and external data change, ensure data is cleansed and ensure that the management of data is robust, reliable and compliant. 

As a subject matter expert, you will lead from the front in delivering training and explaining processes and policies to both internal and external stakeholders. 

About you

Your application must be able to demonstrate knowledge and proven experience of compliance capability, experience of creating and managing data, compliance and strategies, in addition to a risk management. 

You will be passionate about your subject matter and be highly capable of communicating across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external. 

Proven experience of working towards and/ attaining and maintaining ISO accreditation would be desirable.
