Industry Manager - Engineering
As Industry Manager for Engineering you will help City & Guilds deliver on its commitment to invest and grow in the Engineering sector. You will be part of a key team working on an exciting new offer, working closely with industry, employers, and professional bodies to engage them in the development and maintenance of new programme of qualifications. You will gain commitment from the board to continue to work with us throughout the lifespan of the qualifications, ensuring regular engagement and recognition. You will play a key part in supporting how we shape our future offer.
The role will be offered as a 2 year fixed term contract / secondment.
About the role
Working alongside our existing Industry Manager for Engineering you will support them in establishing a strong and reliable industry/employer board that will be the corner stone to our developments within technical/vocational education. You will build and maintain a network of relationships with employers (including SMEs), professional institutes and providers.
Your primary focus will be the implementation of a new programme of qualifications. You will also work across our full Engineering footprint to support projects and growth. This will include our Engineering apprenticeships and EPA offer, amongst other core activities.
You'll need a background in the Engineering sector and a clear understanding of the industry, its needs and challenges, and the direction of travel in the sector over the next 5 years. You'll also need a good understanding of education and or qualifications, knowledge current education reforms, and apprenticeship standards.
You must be able to create, communicate and maintain an employer/industry board in collaboration with internal colleagues, and you'll need to be able to work very closely with Technical Advisors. Finally, you must have a good understanding of policy and regulatory requirements for the industry and qualifications.
