As a Head of Function you will work with other senior leaders, working together to ensure City & Guilds drives to a sustainable and successful future. As a senior leader, you will also champion and role-model a “One City & Guilds” culture and mindset across the business, helping ensure we deliver our strategic aim: establishing City & Guilds as the preferred route and brand for skills, credentials and jobs in our priority sectors and segments.
Your application must demonstrate depth of product management experience with management of a portfolio of products across several sectors. You’ll be a dedicated leader that has impact and has operated at Senior Leadership level including Executive. Experience from further education, skills sector and/or awarding is a must.
You will need to be based in the UK working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office. We offer flexible working but request presence in City & Guilds offices as required for this role.

About the role
As the Head of Product Management, you will deliver measurable business results through the products and service solutions that meet both the market needs and our company goals. By creating short- and long-term product roadmaps you will demonstrate our trajectory of products and services and define as well as deliver robust frameworks for managing the life cycle of products and services from the beginning, through to their development and delivery.
Customer experience will be embedded into your thinking through the life cycle management whilst understanding our landscape and ensuring our offerings have a competitive advantage.
You will work closely with our strategy, insights and other customer facing functions contributing to our overarching proposition strategy and direction that aligns to our 5-year business plan. In addition to this you will take ownership of our commercial targets for our products and services, sharing with our sales team to drive our ambitious growth plans forward.
As a Senior Leader you will build an effective product management function and leadership team, clearly defining roles and responsibilities whilst delivering the overall purpose, vision, and direction of the function.
About you
Applicants must have expert knowledge, understanding and experience in a commercial and funded (Government or other) product and service management role. You will need to be customer focused as well as a strategic and commercially minded individual that is able to work in a changing environment whilst transforming the existing ways of working.
We are looking for a passionate, driven leader who inspires, coaches and mentors their team that also possesses leadership skills at the highest-level including negotiation, presentation and relationship building. You will thrive on meeting and exceeding our commercial targets and the delivery of our products and services in line with our business plans.
The perfect candidate would have knowledge of learning, skills, assessment and employment sectors, funding, and qualifications.
