French speaking Finance Assistant

Here at The Oxford Group we have an exciting opportunity for a French speaking Finance Assistant to join our busy finance team. Based in Eynsham, Oxford, the position is to be recruited on a part time basis (25 hours per week over 5 days) and will work in a supportive, fast paced environment.  Currently hybrid working and flexible working may be negotiated depending on need.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, we are looking for a finance or administration assistant who enjoys working with internal and external customers, is enthusiastic about developing their skills further, and wants to contribute to the success of our finance team. This will help us to better serve our clients, suppliers, consultants, internal teams and other key stakeholder groups.

You will be working with multiple currencies and with international clients. We will provide you with excellent line manager support and in-house systems training.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Producing invoices from our bespoke internal system to clients, identifying and resolving discrepancies as they arise
  • Client queries – working internationally with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring emails including finance and invoice mailboxes
  • Raising of sales invoices to international clients in multiple currencies
  • Compiling monthly status reports
  • Carrying out credit control processes, including monthly debtor days calculation
  • Maintain a register of client portal instructions
  • Collaborating with other departments throughout the organisation
  • Contribute to the delivery of the team’s agreed objectives
  • Support the work of colleagues in the Finance Team as necessary

About you

  • French language essential
  • Confidently able to communicate both verbally and written to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of a finance environment including sales ledger processing is desirable.
  • Experience in a range of Office software including Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
  • Quality focused work standards with the ability and willingness to work to demanding timetables to achieve tasks and complete work to deadlines.
  • Engaging, enthusiastic “can do” attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
