DevOps Developer (Microsoft)

In this role you will develop and support technology products and digital services for City & Guilds. You'll be responsible for end-to-end software development life cycle of products and services from initial scoping, through Agile DevOps lifecycle within our Core Assessment and Marking value stream.

We're flexible about your home location, but you will need to travel quite regularly to our London EC1A offices and this will be your contractual office base.

This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role

You will develop and maintain critical Product features into iteratively delivered solutions, to deliver added value to the Product and Service and reduce occurrences of errors, and to improve customer experience. You'll perform incremental testing actions on code, workflow, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimise errors encountered.

Service improvement is also a key part of the role. You'll work closely within the Agile DevOps Team to suggest improvements to the architecture of the applications, to the internal development processes, and to quality assurance activities. You'll work proactively with Agile DevOps team through DevOps Lifecycle associated to work items. Ensuring Azure DevOps is kept updated and highlighting any impediments or blockers to team.

About you

You must have demonstrable experience of software development lifecycle, together with significant experience in developing online applications or websites. You must have strong problem solving and innovation skills.

Your application should be able to demonstrate experience supporting PaaS IaaS, or Public Cloud Environments, and you'll need excellent programming Deep expertise in frameworks like (.NET, WCF), and in using ASP.NET Core. You should also have an good understanding of Active Directory concepts, including domains, forests, domain controllers, replication, Kerberos protocol, and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
