Business Development Manager

We are delighted to offer the following opportunity within our Intertrain business for an experienced sales person to drive forward new business with new and existing customers. 

As part of the City and Guilds Group, Intertrain was established in 1997 and is the UK’s largest commercial railway infrastructure training provider, with training centres across the country.

If you have a strong sales background, experience of managing key accounts, enjoy meeting and exceeding targets and have the drive to succeed this could be the role for you!

You can be based anywhere in the UK but ideally in the Midlands or the South of England.  It will involve nationwide travel so we are offering a company car as part of the package.

This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role

As a business development manager you will play a key role within Intertrain's business development strategy and growth plans by driving new business for both new and existing customers. This will be achieved by building key relationships from outbound telephone calls through to virtual or face to face meetings with our customer base. 

You will work closely with the head of business development, negotiating and implementing new pricing, commercial terms, agreements and contracts with customers. You will be required to prepare and deliver presentations both internally and externally as well as being a key part in the bids and tenders process. 

About you

To succeed in this role you will need outstanding business development and account management skills with proven experience in achieving and exceeding sales targets. You will need to have a proven track record of growing business and be confident in presenting and communicating to our customers. 

This role would suit a self motivator that enjoy targets, is sales driven and is keen to learn. Ideally you'll have experience within the rail or education sector but this is not an essential for this role.
