About the Role

Partnering with Microsoft, the City & Guilds Group has become the first UK organisation to migrate all of their business critical applications onto the Cloud. If you want to be part of an organisation who is at the forefront of technology then read on.  

This role involves managing the support of Group IT Application Infrastructure and all associated services, taking personal responsibility for service improvement and upgrades of Applications and Infrastructure.

You will be involved in a number of high profile projects including migration to the cloud also consolidation and upgrades. You’ll also be managing the day-to-day relationships with associated vendors, providing specialist support and guidance in areas of business analysis, system requirements, best practices, architecture and test and change management.

About you

We want to hear from individuals with the following MUST have technical expertise in a range of the following areas:-

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Performance Tuning and Analysis
  • SAP on SQL Server
  • Microsoft Server Features and Client Operating Systems

You’ll have expertise with providing ongoing Infrastructure and Application Platform Management including the Design, Build, Configuration, Performance Monitoring and Testing, Sizing and Capacity Management, Documentation, Best Practices & Security, Patching, High Availability along with Backups & DR. Solid Understanding of Enterprise Services Support in the following areas: 

  • Database
  • Middleware
  • Cloud
  • Applications 

We also want to hear from people who have a solid understanding and experience of formal Service Delivery approaches in a complex environment; delivering against robust Service Level Agreements and implementing a process of continuous improvement in Service Delivery. Good technical understanding across a range of the following areas including Azure, Sitecore, SolarWinds, VMWare and ISS.
